Hey Bryan,

Your site has provided me with a wealth of information that i need to optimize mobile sites, pertaining to the post above, you can indicated the use of alternate "<link rel="alternate" media="handheld"" .

However i was confused to know if the hosting website will have any possibility of detecting the a mobile user from the web user and redirecting the HTTP site to the mobile version, when he happens to browse from a wireless handset. What redirects could be used in this case. As this may be a conditional redirect, most of them being not being ethical with search engines compliance standards.

Google uses redirects when we try to access mobile.google.com on a normal web browser, can we use a similar technique ?

Please throw more light on this subject,

Many Thanks,
Zuheb.

Good point, Doug. It seems as though Yahoo! hasn't adopted this tag yet. I'll leave it to any Yahoo! reps who might be reading this to comment as to why they haven't. For my part, I just want to say that the title of this article is "Help Google Find Your Mobile Web Site". Unfortunately I can't recommend this for the other engines at this time. Hopefully they pick up on it soon, though. Thanks for your input!

That simple line of code works great when Google's running across it, but try Yahoo. It totally ignores the line and gives you a Yahoo sliced and diced experience. Am I missing something here? Is there a way around the Yahoo version of events. Anything you type into the Yahoo engine seems to be given the same treatment. Even http://mobile.jetblue.com/ has the Yahoo headers and footers information telling us they've adapted it for the mobile browser.
