Loek, I don't know that there was ever a dotMobi revolution per se, so I'm not sure it could be over without starting. Mobile-specific content doesn't seem to be going away, however. I do address the advantages of mobile content for SEO often on my blog and elsewhere. Check out these two articles for more info on the subject:

Markus, most of these directories are for mobile websites in general, regardless of domain. There are a few that are .mobi showcases, but those should be in the minority. As with any directory, you'll need to check the submission guidelines before you submit.

Best,

I looked at the mobile directories and was wondering that all of them are .mobi. Can I also add a m.domain URL?
Looking forward to your answers.

Hi,

Nice to read about .mobi sites. I developed two sites http://www.opvakantie.mobi/
and http://www.hotelvacation.mobi/
and being adding to the directories you write about. But I never get a reaction. It looks like the .mobi revolution is over? Or not coming?

Please tell us about the situation today mid 2008.

Regards
Loek

Bryson,

Good article, and I agree that cross-linking on the mobile web is just as important as on desktop web from a ranking point of view, perhaps even more so, as you say. I think that the confusion about this stems from the fact that, to date, it is certainly true to say that the degree of inter-linking on the mobile web is nowhere near that of the desktop web, but it does not follow that mobile search engines ignore inter-linking data as boosting input.

One other comment: sites tested by ready.mobi are automatically considered as candidates for inclusion in the find.mobi index.
